The Sheriff's Department Media Relations Unit serves as a central source of information for release by the Sheriff's Department and responds to requests for information from the news media and the community. The Media Relations Unit is responsible for maintaining an open flow of communication with local, national, and international media entities to provide accurate information to the public concerning Sheriff operations.
Members of the Sheriff's Department Administration Division and the Watch Commanders are available for media requests. The scheduled hours of operation for this unit are seven days a week, including holidays. Unit personnel are available 24 hours a day to respond to serious incidents and/or media requests. The Media Relations Unit is located within the headquarters building of the Sheriff's Operations Center. The Media Relations Unit answers directly to the Sheriff.
