City of Riverbank

Chief of Police: Chief Ed Ridenour

In 1995, the City of Riverbank entered into an agreement for the County of Stanislaus to provide law enforcement services for the City of Riverbank.

Both full-time and extra-help employees of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department staff Riverbank Police Services. The City of Riverbank fully funds the 25 positions assigned as part of the Contract Cities budget. Included are a Lieutenant who serves as the Police Chief, three Sergeants, ten Patrol Deputies, three Traffic Deputies, three Detectives, one Community Resource Deputy, one School Resource Deputy, one Community Services Officer and three Records Staff.

Patrol, general investigations, traffic enforcement, crime prevention and business office functions are performed by personnel assigned to Riverbank Police Services. A wide array of services are also provided by specialized units operating from the Sheriff's Operations Center on Hackett Rd. in Modesto; these services include the investigation of felony assaults, crimes against children, fraud, narcotics, gang and street crimes, along with specialized crime prevention and youth services programs.
